Quha has been on the forefront of electronic assistive technology since 2012. Rooted in Finnish culture, a country known for its freedom, we decided to make a move for those who can’t. Today, we’ve spread the movement across 35 countries and it’s just the beginning.
In 2012, things were different on the electronic assistive technology market. High-quality and functional devices to access computers and mobile devices by people with special needs were a rare breed. A relative of one of our founders needed a better solution, igniting the spark for an innovation, and we soon realized we could make a real difference in the business. At the end of the same year, we presented our idea to the Tikoteekki Finnish Communication and Technology Centre, part of the Finnish Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (FAIDD). They immediately liked the idea, giving us constructive user feedback, and in February 2013, the first version of the Quha Zono head mouse hit the market. The journey from idea to product was quick, for which we humbly thank our first customers.
From local to global
After studying the global market, it soon became clear to us that the same innovation was needed in other countries as well. Sales were relatively small until we attended an international fair in Europe, where the Zono mouse instantly got everyone’s attention, paving the way for sales in Germany, Italy and other markets. We then realized the value of networking, in which we have strongly invested ever since. At the same time, we’ve not forgotten our roots in Finland, still the site of our product development and manufacturing.
Listen, iterate, repeat
Since the beginning, Quha products have been developed in an agile manner: we carefully listen to the customer and iterate. Our attitude and source of innovation is realizing that the products should be both quickly ready and never ready, and that there is always room for improvement. As a result of product development and user feedback, Quha Zono 2 was brought into market in 2020. In addition to the Zono mice, the product line now covers several additional assistive products, such as the Sento contactless puff switch, Vento standalone puff switch and Dwell computer access software for assistive mice.
Today, we are a well-known and trusted partner in our field across 35 countries. For this, we’d like to thank our customers, employees, and partners across the globe for bringing our story and vision to life. Many of you have been with us since the beginning, which means a lot to us. Wherever the future will take us, it will be about innovation, better service, proactive communications, sustainable thinking, and most importantly, lasting your lifetime.
Thank you!
Sincerely Yours,
The Quha Team
